Gear Stick Question
Discussion
Hopefully a quick question.
My gearstick came loose recently and in the process of tightening up the locking screw, which holds the gearstick body (with the arm for the reverse light switch) to the stub shaft I noticed that if i tightened it up at its lowest position, it made 2nd, 4th and reverse pretty much impossible to engage, as the gearstick body was catching the rear lip of the metal surround for the stub shaft "hole". The solution was to lift the gearstick further up the shaft (5mm ish) to create clearance, then tighten it up.
My question is, should there be some form of spacer to stop the gearstick from dropping down to its lowest point on the stub shaft? I am just thinking that this will probably work loose again at some point..
