Sorry if this has been suggested before, but couldn't find anything on search.

As all Tuscans seem to have oven temperature engine bays, mainly caused by the exhaust manifolds (unless they have been wrapped, coated, or plenty of heat shielding put up), has anyone ever thought of just having a simple small electric fan rigged up somewhere in front of the engine to blow some excess heat away from the hot manifold area?

Mine has got heat proof matting stuck under the bonnet yet still has some very minor crazing to the paintwork, and just thinking of a better solution that more matting, as the scuttle too is showing signs of stress.

I have actually ordered a piece of posh heat shielding from Zircotec, so will stick that either on top of or in place of the existing cheaper stuff I have under my bonnet.

I still don't think a fan would hurt, a little 6" one from a bike would be ideal, just to move the hot air away from the manifold a bit. I don't want to actually cool the manifold as that would be counter productive, but it can't be doing that side of the engine any favours, or the bodywork.

Heading to the workshop this evening so will have a look and see if there is a route for the heat to escape if fan assisted.

I would love to have them ceramic coated, or at least wrapped, but both options are really manifold off jobs, and I gather to get the manifolds off it is really an engine out job! A lot of work for a bit of insulation.
