stereo-rear speakers
Discussion
Hi guys.
Loving my Tuscan but (and although its not the most important thing) the stereo system is utterly terrible!! I don't want to go overboard but do want to upgrade it.
I have upgraded the head unit to an alpine one which is much better but next is speakers.
I have seen a few cars where people have put speakers in the rear section (under the screen facing forward) but wanted to see if anyone had any advice or experience before I cut holes and put some speakers in!
Thanks
Matt

Thanks for all the replies guys...glad to see it's not just me !
As a first attempt to improve things I have bought and fitted two upgrades.
First I changed the original pioneer 4" speakers behind the seats for infinity Kappas which are a much better speaker. They sounds significantly better!
Secondly, I have fitted a pair of Focal tweeters up front to try and lift the sound stage forward a little. They have certainly helped.I'll post a PIC tomorrow of what and where they are. The door cards in the front from car photos above look awesome...
Of course that has helped audio level out but of course still no bass at all. I need to fit a sub and good to see some options.
Either need to custom build a box for the rear o(which will be the best option) or try and hide something in the passenger foot well.
A great excuse for a Tuscan meet up once the weather improves to share stereo ideas.. (And go for a noon of course....rude not to!)

Mk1 (Sep 2000)
Focal Bus 20 active sub in passenger footwell (piece of cake to fit and easy connect to battery).
Focal tweeters front mounted (but beer and lots of swearing involved!)
Focal rears in original location; head unit powered
Nothing for the audiophile but:
Inexpensive
Clear improvement over original
Loud enough with roof off
No interior modification required
Here are some shots so far:
Rears
Front Tweeters. Drivers side I have also put a mic in for hands free (for when the wife calls and tells me I've been out for ages'popping round the block'!)
New head unit
How have you fitted the sub in the foot well? Worried about space and being kicked...
