ok so as they say in for a penny and all that.........decided to strip and rebuild whole car! i've worked on lots of TVR's before and done lots of jobs from interiors to outrigger replacement but mainly worked on older models chim, griff, wedge so got a good idea what its going to take but first looking for some obvious heads up and what is going to cause problems....... might be posting up a lot of stupid question so bare with me
1. take engine out first or lift body off first then engine out (if first option take engine out through top or out underneath)
2. when separating body from chassis whats best method, where and how to support?
3. is there an existing thread that anyone can point me towards?
p.s car is 2000 Tuscan 4.0

Hi, I am currently doing a chassis refurb so there is a bit of info in the link. I lifted the body off first then removed the engine. To lift the body off I gradually lifted it by supporting it under the wheel arches. Once it was clear of the tight spots like the engine manifolds I got my mates round to lift it off completely.

Hi Rich that's excellent exactly what i was looking for, i was surprised the body would come off first (clearance at manifolds does look tight) and thought there might be a couple of hidden bolts somewhere! i understood the bit about choking underneath the wheel arches but how/where did you lift it gradually (did you use a jack on the body somewhere?) before enventually using man power to finally lift free? did you shape a block of wood to fit inside the arch and then keep placing extra chokes under that or does it not have to be that sophisticated.
