Managed to catch a high kerb and smash the pepperpot front grille on my Mk1. I know it divides opinions but it is one of the features that makes me prefer the Mk1 over Mk2. Question now is, for the extra stability should I replace it like-for-like or change to Mk2 style (with or without splitter) ? Anyone fitted the fibreglass one from Fibron ? Would seem to make sense to make it stronger than the original plastic one.

Actually it wasn't the curb, it was a sodding ratcatcher box that was green, buried in the grass and hard up against a fence post so the grille had nowhere to go. Damned annoying when I'd only popped in to a shop for a £5 refund. I've araldited it together for now. Think I'll stick with the Mk1 style when I get around to replacing it. To me it does define the original design along with the "commando" backside.
