Discussion
I have just bought a pedal box from Fleebay which was advertised as 'Grade A' condition, and a 'very very clean' item. Low & behold when it arrived it turned out to have a fair amount of corrosion. It is however complete with all the gubbins, even throttle cable is still attached.
Question is, how much is a used pedal box worth? Can you still buy new ones? Could do to know before I start moaning at the seller if it's worth the £257 I paid for it, or if it's worth spending the time to spruce it up?
Thanks!

Ryan,
IMHO, I think it's pretty rough to be honest.
As you say, a fair bit of surface corrosion - which probably would clean up, but I think £257 is bloody cheeky.
I'd try calling the parts places and find out what a new one would cost. I guess the pedals and linkages/spacers etc (which look reasonable) would transfer to a new 'carcase'.

Have to agree with the general opinion, its pretty bad and was a totally misleading ad.. does that clutch pedal even depress !? I would have been dubious about the fact they either took very strategic pictures/wouldnt provide any or it was listed without them.. honest opinion would be to send it back sir..
Probably no 'mainstream' supply of such parts but a couple of reputable names (powersperformance/str8six) would perhaps be able to source one, I did not think it would be too expensive but a wee search confirms its a rare thing to find lol but you could always look for a good kit car set that would fit ?

Ryan,
I'm a BARC member. In the summer magazine there was a flyer for: OBP motorsport.
They have a website www.obpltd.com. a telephone 01487 812301.
Not cheap though, but might have something that could be adapted.

To be fair, strip it down and £15 spent at a zinc plater and the metalwork would look like new. Remember all these cars are at least 10 years old so second hand parts are always going to look quite second hand.
Badly described (being kind) but if you need a full pedal box then it's not a bad price.

It's not just the frame though, all the rods, joints, pivots etc look pretty furred up. I'd guess it's from a salvage car that's been left out in the open for a while.Badly described (being kind) but if you need a full pedal box then it's not a bad price.

My car is a very early one, plenty of miles, been used not pampered and my pedal box looks nothing like that....
