Heater control stuck on cool?

Is there any easy way to manually turn the heater back to heat. All the lights are on. The fan is working but I'm guessing, like the grif, there's a little actuator somewhere that's stuck and the valve is closed. No water leaks just stuck. Or is there a separate fuse that controls actuator? I have unplugged and cleaned the heater box connection but no joy. Any advice. ..

I read it's somewhere in the engine bay?is it easy to access?

Thanks chaps. Cars having a 12 k service next week so will pop down my friendly garage and have a little play them. Hopefully a bit of lubricant + electrical cleaner will do the job.
