Replacing Dampers / Coilovers

Hi guys,
Looking at potentially changing over an aging set of Gaz Golds for some new Gas Gold Pro's.
I was thinking fitting them myself, then having them set up by a pro...
Is there much to it?
Is it just a case of jacking the car up, removing the wheels, then they are simply held in place by a bolt at the top wishbone, and another at the bottom one?
Any need to compress the springs etc?
