Hello all,
My Drivers Door window is not moving up or down but door mechanism working perfectly fine. Looked at the door yesterday and the cables looked ok in the Encoder. Opened up the door but seemed ok, did not change over the over side as you know what it is like when you start tampering with unbroken things

What would you suggest is the issue as the passengers side is perfectly fine.

Could it be the ECU? Also, where does the ECU live in a Tuscan Mark 1?

Thanks

Thanks Dad, LOL.

Can people confirm whether there is a separate window module/ecu for the windows and where they are located in a mk1 Tuscan. Dani does not mean the engine ECU.

Thanks.

Hi guys, changed over the door control units and the driver side still doesn't work at all. Even used the spares I had which are in great condition. Funny thing was that whilst investigating, my right hand side door control was on the left hand side and yes the left one was on the right.

So I can say it is definitely something else now. Atleast it's a lovely crisp sunny Saturday.

Is the only other option be the problems with the actual Encoder?

I have exactly this problem with my driver's side window at the moment.

I have changed the encoder in the door with no improvement, I have also send off the door ecu for repair (don't know what fault was found or what the repair was), again when refitted no improvement (very disappointed at this point). Checked all fuses to no avail, and tried swapping door ECU's, but drivers side window still won't work with passenger side ECU (interestingly, passenger side window also won't work with driver's side ECU). Ready to admit defeat and waiting for a dry day to take it to someone with more electrical diagnostic skills than mine (not hard!).

Please post if you find a fix for yours first...

Shall I buy the Encoder door glass part, as in TVR ME0424? Cheers

Sounds like a door encoder problem to me. They are a known weak point IIRC

Been round the houses to get this fixed. Two companies that will remain unnamed have quoted me two different prices and labour time between 2 to 6 1/2 hours. Getting rather aggrieved with all this nonsense but times are tough so will have to wait until the NYear and since my 12k service, one thing to another is going wrong with it. Very frustrating as this is my daily car.
I'll keep you posted but looks like it's either the Harness(loom) needs changing or just a cable needing fixing. Regardless, 2 hours to 6/12 hours is a tremendous difference and feel that I am being taken for a ride. I think I need to do a Level 5 course on TVR mechanics. Anyone else experienced this? Patience is really being tested. Off for a pint of Whiskey now.......
