Have been wondering a while now why the V8 engine was not offered in the Tuscan model. Does anyone know why?

Because it was becoming ancient and they developed higher specific output straight 6 and v8 engines in house...

As a huge rover fan you'll know by the time the Tuscan came out the rover v8 was almost 50 years old, and compromised.

Oh and it sounds like a 60's F1 car at full throttle.. rather than an american car...

Yes but TVR had their own V8 by then not the Rover (Buick) engine. That is why I wondered sorry i should have made it clearer that I meant the TVR OHC V8 not the Rover one.

By the way have never owned a V8 of any make as yet and only one straight and that wasa Jeep Cherokee. Jaguar of course use the straight 6 in their racers I believe.
