Hi Guys - I have just joined Piston Heads as I have recently purchased a 2004 TVR Tuscan - the vehicle was purchased as a none runner and has been stood for over a year after have the engine was removed for a head gasket replacemet - I got the engine started after chaging the battery and fixing some wiring issues - basically the engine is running very rough (misfiring - stalling), but more seriosly if the engine is left idling one of the catalytic converors starts glowing red hot. the plugs and leads have been replaced, but no change. I would try a new coil pack, but I live in Saudi Arabia and everthing has to be imported due to no dealers or speacialists out here. I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on testing the coilpack before I order one - or are there any other thing to be checked??

Thanks for the info yzf1070 - I hope to have the vehicle running very soon - hopefully in time for the winter - when it's not too hot!!!!!!! I will send you an email tomorrow as I only joined the forum yesterday. Your right there aren't many TVR's in Saudi - I only know of one which is a prototype Sagaris II, owned by a Prince. He is actually the original owner of my car.

Where in the Phils are you trying to take your car??? My wife is from Bacolod City and while I haven't thought about takng the Tuscan I should hope it would be simple since it's left hand drive.

Hi dvs dave - I'm not sure who the owner of the Sagaris is but I'll keep my ears open - I'll try nd get some picture and post them.

thanks again for the information - as per one of the earlier posts I have been told the coil pack is an Opel model - while they don't sell many here we do have a dealer so I'll try them first before importing.

If I decide to decat the car - are there any changes necessary to the lambda probes???
