The only people I think would have a concern are those that have paid thousands for personalised ones.
Not only those, what about owners of vintage and historic vehicles. Part of their character and history is
the type/look of the number plates. Depending on age and registration the could be 'hand painted', black
with either separate raised lettering in silver or white and then the cast or pressed black and silver type.

As an aside, the 'new' MOT regulations the EU want is that 'to retain VED exemption, all vehicles should
be as they were made and first registered'. Surely if this 'number plate' idea takes root, are they not in
telling us we must change the plates be in violation of their own MOT ruling scratchchin
