So, the new door seals have arrived. Despite a couple on here suggesting it might be difficult, I'm going to have a crack at replacing them in the next couple of weeks. Rubber hammer is ready and waiting smash

In other news, before I went to Spa last month I had the throttle pots and lambda sensors replaced. On the way to Spa the car developed another misfire under hard acceleration (didn't affect it at 150 plus leptons hehe). General consus (over a beer that evening) was that the new misfire is down to probably coil packs (possibly leads)

The legend that is M3John has very kindly offered (well, for the price a few pints of beer and a meal) to 'help me' (cough!) replace the coil packs (trying them first, as my car is prone to eating them) so people, what do I need to buy and best place to get them from? I've seen posts about just going to my local Citreon garage, but is this right??

OK, so point me in the right direction of said parts please. Cant just rock up and ask for 'some black plastic things that stop my TVR from misfiring' wink

I went for the red magnecor HT leads from ACT - about £110 if memory serves and had no problems with fitting or using....maybe worth changing big fuse as you're down there.
I've got the red magnecors, have had them about 4 years, not had any trouble with them. Coil packs, on the other hand, are a different kettle of cod. I go through a pair every 18 months, which is why I'm heading down that route first.

I think this is a little unfair. I'll have you know that on Saturday morning I replaced the dipped beam bulb and swapped over the space saver tyre for the replaced punctured on Mrs Fubes' Meriva. All on my own tongue out

The bulb replacement even involved removing the air filter hose. Check me out!

Ok, so who's stupid facking idea was this seals lark? Grrrrrrrrrrr

30 minutes to get one side almost perfect ( one section I'm not happy with) to then cock up the join! Cut it about 2mm short and it's now annoying he crap out of me. One seal ruined! Luckily I've kept the original and tempted to stick that back in.

What's pissed me off the most is the fact the bloody car didn't leak from the door seals anyway.

bks.

I might have another crack at it. Not a perfect solution but I think if I take the seal off again and reapply I can put the join in a less visible place so it won't kick me in the balls everytime I open the door. Thinking right in by the hinge somewhere.

And then try to be more careful when doing the other side (or just leave that one alone!)

Mine is a couple of mm too short as well. The join is down near the front

Puff I love you (in a non sexual way). You've made me feel a whole heap better coz a) I'm not the only plonker and b) my err, hole is smaller than yows tongue out

I was think slightly higher than yours, on the 'upslope' a couple of inches above
