I'm going to replace my cracked manifolds with shiny ACT ones.
But I'm just checking if there would be any interest in a group buy.
I haven't asked ACT for the different prices.
Just looking if there would be any interest up front

So let me know if you're interested thumbup

Had an E-mail back from Tim at ACT today.
He said he would be happy to offer a discount for a group buy.
If we can order 3 sets, there's a 12% discount
4 or more --> 14% clap

So if we can get it up to 3 sets the price drops from £ 1185 to £ 1043 ex VAT
4+ means the price drops further to £ 1019 ex VAT

If you're interested just put your name below.

I'll keep this group buy open for 10 days, the payment should be made to Tim at ACT quoting "Cerbergroupbuy"

I have them, very good bit of kit, although mine had to be adjusted to give a decent clearance to the chassis, but then every Cerbera is slightly different.

If I was to fit now, then I'd be lookign at the posters that have ceremic coated them.
I think I'm going to have them ceramic coated as well.
They look really nice and help keep the temp down under the bonnet as well thumbup

Apparently just ask for an invoice request on sales@actproducts.co.uk and payment will go through when the manifolds are ready.

Hi Nils

Sorry for being such a Dullo but do these pipes cover the distance from the Cylinder Head to the Centre pipe face (thereby eliminating the necessity for Cats/De-Cats) ??

Ta !!
No you still require cats/decat pipes.
It would be pretty difficult if you have to pull the manifolds each time you get it MOT'd.
But they sell decat pipes as well and the money you save with the group buy, is about the price of a set of decats wink

For those of us who are a little clueless about these manifolds... if my Cerb is on the originals can I presume that at some point the old manifolds will die a death?

Thanks
The original Cerb manifolds are mild steel with bubblegum welds. And about 99% of them crack at the welds (mine did)
They can be rewelded but they'll probably crack again...
The ACT ones are 304 stainless steel with proper welds. a lot more durable and with the performance ones you gain some midrange torque.
It's kind of hurtful in the finance-department but worth it in the end (I think).

I fitted some of the ACT one piece manifolds when I had my 4.7 upgrade done good quality stuff not sure about any performance gains as they just copy the standard items, if you want a performance upgrade you have to get the mega bucks multi piece ACT manifolds.
ooooh I want a 4.7 too frown
Well this group buy is for the multipiece performance ones.
They are quite expensive but everybody seems to be really happy with them.
And they are beautifully made lick

I think the originals are stainless just a lesser grade than 304.

The flanges are monkey metal though. Welds will last if you brace them properly when welding up.
Yes but I'm trying to sell here laugh

Mine were stainless tube (304 at a guess) but the flanges were steel plate. The problem with the welds was that they had been shoddily MIGed with mild steel wire between stainless tube sections! The weld filler was corroding badly and was the weak point that cracked. That was the bits where the weld bead was complete and not gappy or porous!

I ground out all the old welds and re did them with stainless wire. How they last time will tell.
Maybe you should buy spare ones for when they go wink hehe

Harry I saw 20bhp gain from cracked manifolds to these manifolds on my car. Joo wasn't happy after mapping at 361 as he thought it was sapping his efforts. Manifolds swapped out and it was almost spot on where joo said it would get.
Will be visiting Joolz some time soon as well
These manifolds and the short induction kit has got to be worth some extra horses no?

I think there's some confusion .. jackwibble has the ACT stainless replacement of the standard manifolds, not the performance version being discussed in this thread ..

Hi Joo,

Quick question...
I tried to order your short induction kit from Ebay
But I couldn't because my country wasn't listed for shipping.
I'd like to fit them already after I have these manifolds. (but they have to go to get ceramic coated first)
So when I come over you don't have to waste time fitting them.
I assume it won't hurt driving from Belgium to your shop with the generic chip?
And do you still sell the cool chip?

Thanks!

Spoken like a true Yorkshireman.

I'm having the same dilemma at the moment, I think I need to be more impulsive!
Or I just cannot be bothered to weld up the cracks and spend ages port matching then coating if their going to crack again.

I will carry on pondering, tempted buy the possibility of a group buy!
well I'll keep this group buy open until tomorrow 2pm
After that I'm going just to order mine from ACT

I'm going to close this group buy so I can order mine.
Thanks for everyone who was considering it.
Too bad There weren't enough people.
But then again, it is a quite expensive purchase so it's understandable.
(I'm going to wait to tell the misses until they're here biggrin)
I'll post a pic when I have them back from the ceramic coater wink
