Got some spiders, what tyre sizes and lock stops

Evening all

I finally have some Spiders. I have the 'rear' rears and the 'front' fronts if that makes sense rather than 4 fronts. I am needing to order some tyres as the wheels are bare and wondered what tyre sizes people prefer. Do some people put 245's on the back rather than 255's to avoid scrubbing etc etc?

Also, can anyone tell me anything about fitting lock stops. Are there any diagrams around or parts needed. From what i have read and seen it looks like a plastic washer?

Is the offset problem because they are too far inward, or stick out of the arch too far?

For the fronts, some people seem to go for 225/35 and other 225/40 and im in a real dilema on what to go for. The car they came off was fine with them on, so i will have to cross my fingers and hope. Hey ho if they dont fit ill have to buy 2 new fronts. Ive got these past the wife so whats another 2 :-)
