Indicators not working

My hazards work but not the indicators. The AA who were out to sort another problem said it is not the relay, control unit or a fuse so must be the stalk / switch.
Has anyone here had a similar problem ? The car is a 1999 speed six cerb.

Thanks for the info. I am using the hazards anyway when indicating is 'critical' so this is not resetting them.
