Pulled out my old radiator last night in preparation to fit the alloy one from Radtec and i noticed that I didnt have any lower grommets like these.

Cant guarantee i didn't lose these when i had the radiator out to refurb the engine bay, but i didnt notice them. So my question is what purpose do they serve? Do they go round the lower pegs that locate into the holes in the fiberglass? Do they perform a shock absorber function so the radiator isnt mounted directly to the body?

Obviously i don't object to the few pence to buy them, i was just wanting to put it back together for the weekend. If i know what purpose they are serving i can fashion something similar with bits from a local shop.

Thanks
Pete

I have a few rubber slide pin covers from old brake calipers kicking around. Think I can fashion something out of those to gete away. At the end of the day it only needs to be round and rubbery smile

Interesting. Mine is fixed to the shell at the top and the bottom? The two holes that the locating posts on the bottom of the radiator fit into are in the fibre glass?
