My car has Bilstein shocks fitted to it, which I feel are getting tired and could do with replacing.
I have found that with 4 of us in the car on a bumpy road the tyres on the rear can rub on the arch, my thinking is putting new shocks on will have decent bump stops and stronger springs to prevent this happening.
I only use the car on the road ( no track days) and would like to be able to drive with a set of shocks which are suited to this.
Any recommendations ?

Thanks for all the feedback on this guys.
Going to look at all the options and decide in the next few weeks what to go for.
Having raced bikes for some years, I have a understanding of suspension.
With regards to car setup, do you do static sag settings etc? If so would anyone be able to provide me with any information please?
Cheers

Having taken the rear wheel off my car tonight, checked the rear shocks to find 12/97 on the spring.
Is this a spring rate or a date stamp ? My car is an early 4.5, I do have an invoice dated 2007 for new shocks, starting to think they maybe original.

They may have renewed the dampers but kept the springs, are springs listed on the invoice?
Having checked the invoice, it just states upgraded suspension.
It's not done all that much mileage since 2007 ( when they was fitted) so maybe the dampers are good still and just needs springs fitting

Finally got my new shocks fitted , went for Protech 600 single adjustable in the end.
Set the fronts to 10 clicks in on the front, rears 8 clicks in.
I set the preload up very quickly, making sure the front and rear were set equal.
I do need to do some measuring to get it spot on, until then I have driven it twice and both times it has felt awful ! I have taken 100 steps back with regards to the handling.

Going to get the front and rear measurements sorted out, then see how it is.
Any other advise on this?

Went out and checked the ride height, it wasn't far off what it needs to be which was a good bit of guess work !
I backed off the damping front and rear a bit to give it a bit more feel, also I thought I best check the tyre pressure, bit of a shocker as found them all to be at 38psi!! Now I know why the car didn't feel to good, I had the wheels refurbished maybe a month ago and as the car went away to str8six I just totally forgot about checking the tyre pressure.

After setting the pressures to 24psi all round (18" wheels) and going out for a test run it's now 100% better! Still not quite where I want it but at least it will go in a straight line now!
