The part number on my 4.5 fuel pump is 0 580 254 957. I'm starting to think about carrying a spare, but don't fancy paying £100 for a Bosch 0 580 254 909, which apparently replaces the 957. So how about the Sytec pump for £50?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401086656530

SPEC:
Voltage - 12
Inlet - 12mm push on
Outlet - standard bosch 12x1.5mm banjo stub
Flow rate (max) - 280ltr/hr
Flow rate @ 3bar - 210ltr/hr
Flow rate @ 5bar - 186ltr/hr
Max pressure - 10bar
Location to tank - 0.6m (gravity fed)
Length - 175mm
Diameter - 58mm

But "This pump is suitable for most turbo/non turbo petrol fuel injection systems up to approx. 300bhp"

Also, are there any more elegant brackets that fit our cars? Can't fault it for lightness though.

I read your post on injector cleaning and noticed that they supply a replacement for the Bosch 044 which I was considering for my rebuild.
I would be wary of fitting a Bosch 044 without upgrading the power supply, the 044 is about 13A, whereas the OEM unit is more like 8A.

What fuel pumps are others using?

Perhaps I should pick up a used 957 off the bay for £25 and carry that with me.
