Had to add a sticker to the back.
Because it did this...

Squeeky bum moment at the last corner but it wasn't too bad.

Under 10 mins BTG on your first trip is great, especially on a busy lap. I still had no idea which way the track went after only five laps, whereas you seemed very confident. Also you had good awareness, and no ego getting in your way, very impressive. There were a few times where I was hoping you would change up (9:48 for instance), but you didn't; on the other hand you were very cautious around the Ring recovery vehicle which was excellent.
However, I don't understand why the rear stepped out at Galgenkopf (holding 3rd for too long perhaps?), the surface is very smooth there, so if that had happened to me I would have been very 'disappointed'. Having said that the tyres seemed generally quite vocal, despite being difficult to hear over the entertaining exhaust note, so I reckon they were holding you back. I rarely hear a squeak out of my AD08's, they just work.
If you've got the bug then you will already be planning your next trip. I'll be there again in two weeks time for DN16, and I've already been five times this year (although once was in a truck to collect my dead Cerb).
I appreciate your comments, coming from a seasoned pro, I'm open to critique. However, I don't understand why the rear stepped out at Galgenkopf (holding 3rd for too long perhaps?), the surface is very smooth there, so if that had happened to me I would have been very 'disappointed'. My tyres were Uniroyal RainSport3's as I was expecting stty weather, but it was really hot and all parts of the track were bone dry. I think holding 3rd was a contributing factor to the back end stepping out, I was listening to see if I'd lifted off, but I don't think I did - just held it ready to shoot off down the straight.
I am planning my next trip, might have to give a DN a go next year. Wife is adamant I'm not going back, but she's just a gurl, she ain't stopping me.
Hope you have a successful trip.
