As i am also having boats as a interest and is used to deal with the weight on boats, i guess the extra weight in the TVRs is in the body. Especially if the body is laid up by hand.
It is very difficult to not put to much resin on when you are laying up the GRP. Some of the big boat builders are doing this with robots now and their boats weight is what they say it should be.
My boat that is built in 1989 weighs about 10 % more than it say in the books 3280 kg instead of the told 2990kg.

That's what I was thinking. There could be a substantial variation in body weights as they are laid up by hand. Anyone got any idea what a Cerb body weighs? I guess it as not as light as you might expect. Maybe 200-250kgs?
