Speed Six Engine Rebuild Anyone!!

I'm very keen on purchasing a V-plate Speed Six from a local specialised, non TVR dealer. We agreed that he would send it to the local TVR dealer to get 'everything sorted out'. There is quite a list of things to do, shockers, brake discs etc. but whilst it was there they reported it has had two engine re-builds following damage due to loss of water and oil. Should I now stay clear? any opions valued, cheers.
