Charlieboy what is it thats wrong with the cams? Are they beyond repair?
Carrying on from what Ted just said, Kent or piper cams (cant remember which) were going to regrind a set for me to any spec I wanted.

Billy.
The cams are worn unevenly they are the original cams on a 96 N and I've been told they can't be re-ground due to the extent of the wear. On another note i have tried the breakers option but no luck, as the only ones available are in an engine which the breaker wont break down!!! so wanted £4K for the engine - and who knows what state they are in.
Re-having some made just not economical compared to the cost of replacement ones. I have to also ask the question re parts on the AJP how long are they going to keep producing this engine for and what is the state of play going to be on replacement parts after. Are there any engines TVR have discontinued but parts are available still - I used to own a 1974 MGB roadster about 3 years ago and the parts on a car they discontinued back in the early eighties are still available as remakes - Will this end up happening to the Cerb - Will TVR sell off the rights eventually how does this work ?

Ok I've just spoken to Piper Cams and they can re-grind but as I've said before if there is nothing to grind then I can't have that done. To have a pair made they are estimating £1200 and a timescale of approx 8 weeks - so basically I might as well wait on TVR if they quoting 2 weeks which I know will be more likely 4. I really have to say that the dream is turning into a nightmare - I was expecting the ownership of a TVR to be hard but not impossible!!! But thanks for all your replys its nice to know Iam not alone and not suffering in silence.

Charlieboy I was sure I offered you the set of cams I picked up with the f***ed engine I aquired on ebay a few months ago but only insisted you replace them as I dont want to be in the same situation. If things get any worse the offer still stands and even if you want to consider using the profile to get some new sets made then thats another option.

Many thanks mate, I remember. The problem is, is that I've been told that even the newer Cams have a fault so i may aswell wait for the very new Cams from TVR. Thanks anyway
