Hi there,

Perhaps this got missed in amongst all the reaction to the reelase of the 50th Anniversary Aventador, but Lamborghini are also releasing a commemorative Gallardo.

The question is WHY ?

Especially as they have given the anniversary model a reverse facelift (in other words in does not have the recent 'triangular' bumpers that were applied to the latest baby Lambo)

Now I am a massive Lamborghini fan, and special cars such as the Countach anniversary, Diablo SE30 and the 40th Anniversary Murcielago will go down in history but not sure about this one.

Thanks to GTSpirit for the pics

Spec taken from Lambocars

One of the last paragraphs in the official press release from Lamborghini talks about another special model, the Gallardo LP560-2 50° Anniversario ... which will be shown next to the yellow Aventador in Shanghai, the V10 counterpart is finished in Bianco Opalis ... a special shade of white that 'shimmers' as Lamborghini puts it.
The Gallardo LP560-2 50th Anniversary edition also receives the beautiful clear carbon fiber rear wing that is optionally available on the lightweight LP570-4 Superleggera and an extra bonus is the glass window engine cover so you can admire the V10 underneath, which in this case puts out 560 hp ... but only on the rear wheels instead of all four as on the LP560-4.
Talking about the wheels, on this special celebration model of the V10 the Scorpius wheels make their return, first used on the original Gallardo Superleggera back in 2007 they also featured on the LP550-2 Valentino Balboni special and the BiColore ... all limited edition models just like this 50th Anniversary edition.
So we are looking at a rear wheel drive V10 model that pumps out 10 hp more compared to the LP550-2 model, receives an impressive rear wing, transparent engine cover and rolls on classic, but beautiful looking multi spoke wheels ... and receives the by now well-known '50° Anniversario' Forged Composite badges.

Regards

Tim

Ooops.

Yep your right, it was tucked away in the thread you linked to. No wonder I missed it.

Nice to see some pics though.
