physical confrontation!!
Discussion
well, that was an eventful Friday night.........
we've all had a bit of negative reaction when out and about. usually this is heavily outweighed by positive thumbs up gestures etc. but an incident on Friday was astounding.
I decided I couldn't be bothered cooking, and seeing as the car was already out on the drive - any excuse to have a little blast!! anyway, I drove to an indian takeaway for something to accompany a nice bottle of red that was already breathing on the kitchen work top and waited patiently for my order.
As I left the takeaway a very pissed up bloke stopped me in my tracks by putting his hand on my chest. the usual " is that your car mate?" type of comments ensued with polite answers from me despite this bloke being very definitely in my personal space. I was trying to keep it jovial as I walked to the car but this guy followed me and as I got in and turned the ignition he jumped in the passenger seat and sat all over a load of cd's.
For some reason he was getting increasingly bent out of shape when repeatedly asking me who I was he got the same answer of "nobody you'd know". now he was in the car he asked me to give him a lift home. I was apoplectic with rage at this point but kept it together and asked him to get out of the car. This ahole then grabbed my arm in a very threatening manner and said "just give me a lift you wker , it's only up the road".
That was it. engine off and i'm out of the car and round the passenger side. I opened the door and gave him a bit of a mouthful. as he tried to get out he was struggling because he was so pissed. I grabbed his arm to drag him out and that was the cue he needed. right in my face pointing, shouting, "who the fk do you think you are you stuck up " came the cry.
the temptation to cross a short right hook to this guy's jaw was almost overwhelming but I resisted and pushed him away from the car. I was back in the driving seat and trying to pull away in a flash when he banged the wing mirror and carried on with the verbals as I drove away.
no real reason for sharing this other than to vent, but be safe out there kids!! there are lots of pissed up wkers around!!

cheers for the messages of support fellas!! pistonheads solidarity and all that!!!
nobody loves a punch up more than me......but it needs to be done in a controlled environment. gloves, headguards, gumshields and definitely NO ALCOHOL!!!
situations like that on Friday night can turn sour both ways up. you can either end up getting properly filled in or worse still you can pop the guy......it's really easy to knock a pissed up bloke unconscious because they don't see it coming....and pavements/benches/ car doors etc. are not what peoples heads should be making contact with. I know a guy through work who's son got a very long stretch inside because of a very similar situation. he was sober having a meal with the missus when a drunk bloke pushed things too far and got a crack. unfortunately the poor bloke hit his head on the bar after being hit and died a couple of days later in hospital.
2 lives ruined for nothing.

Nothing worse than dealing with drunk knobeds like this when you're sober, usually I just humor them but he crossed a line getting in.
Where abouts was it out of interest?
Penketh Warrington believe it or not !!! Don't usually get any grief round there tbh.Where abouts was it out of interest?
Mostly kids and adults alike enjoy hearing and seeing the car....always happy for kids to sit in and have their photos taken as I remember the excitement I experienced as a nipper when I saw something out of the ordinary.
In 4 years of Ferrari ownership I've only had a few problems really. ...... I've had a couple of spitters and a couple of beanshakers.....water off a ducks back mate!!!
If that's the price I have to pay to drive what I want so be it.........unless they climb in the bloody car!!! Then I'm pissed off!

That's annoyed me just reading about it.
You poor sod, still, well handled etc.
I'm a fair way off having a Ferrari (550 one day..) but do have a couple of cars I'm very proud of and it drives me mad when people come too close of lean on them.
Annoyingly people seem to think that because my Westfield has no doors or roof that they are entitled to sit in/on it at their pleasure. What is it with people and the complete lack of respect for others belongs?
Grrr etc.
I know the feeling!....I have twice had to machine polish out scratches from the wings that are very obviously from studs on jeans where someone has probably sat all over it for a photo..You poor sod, still, well handled etc.

as I said before, i'm quite happy for people to have photos and stuff... even sit in for photos but to sit all over the bonnet and wings is poor form. I've seen cars in car parks and got the horn. phone out for a few snaps but i'd never dream of sitting on or touching someone elses pride and joy........probably because I know how hard you have to work to get a good car!

Yeah does seem strange for round there, ahole lurk everywhere though! I was half expecting you to say somewhere in Widnes town...on a Friday night...in a Ferrari. In which case I would have said serves you right!
Its a shame, but that seems to be the par for the course of supercar ownership! Glad theres no damage done though.
Bloody yokel.

Have to say did make my blood boil only reading about it.. How the hell a normal person thinks it's ok to come and sit in your car. Makes me think the security my 911 had of opening only drivers door when unlocking is not such a bad idea after all despite the gf cursing at it every time :-)
given that the st banged the wing mirror as I drove off I fear if the door had been locked that might have led to a bit more damage....the bit I find astounding is that this bloke has literally no idea who I am .literally none. what if I had been a local "face"?? i'm not!! but hypothetically I could have been a stone cold killer, rather than the teddy bear I actually am!!aholes like this usually get their arses handed to them sooner or later.......I was just determined it wasn't going to be me who plastered him all over the pavement and then suffer the consequences.blokes like that just aren't worth it

You'll see him sober one day soon, probably won't have a clue what he did. Where were his mates/family?
Ha!, if I do and he does remember (unlikely) then i'll happily off him satisfaction at the local boxing gym. all in a sporting manner you understand, timed rounds, gumshields and gloves......like proper gentlemen.as for his pals....I kept looking around expecting to see a gang egging him on but he was alone

Mate your welcome to it, just like the car is all high fking maintenance. Once the car is clean she will start begging you to get your hose out and give her a good rinsing and where will that get you? pilotprice said:
Tuscaner. Do you drive a red 430 (02 UFO )?
I live in whittle hall, see the above car a lot around town. I have a 63 reg c63 saloon but also getting a 430 on Saturday. If you ever want to grab a few pics let me know.
Great Indian if it was the one opposite the crown btw, probably a local prat which are becoming far to common place at the moment.
02 UFO isn't me pal. red, yes as is the other car I see knocking about regularly which has a plate 430 SCU or something similar.I live in whittle hall, see the above car a lot around town. that indian is the very one. absolute cracker isn't it?
is this your first foray into Ferrari ownership?? if so you have no idea how much you will love the car. i'm on my second 430 now and realistically can't see me ever coming away from it .....unless 458s come down in price a chunk!
if you fancy a two car photo opportunity drop me a line fella! ansd welcome to the club

in all seriousness, crap situation to be in, but sounds like you handed remarkably well.
