Lets say you're off tomorrow to spec up a Huracan, for the exterior you've decided to go for Verdi Mantis, Lambogreenie if you will. What about the interior? Would you go for the Verdi Fauns?

My LP560 has a lovely bi-colour cream and black, the exterior colour is white and IMHO they work together well, I've owned a Seca blue car with a Seca blue interior in the past and that also looked fabulous but green?
Is it just, you know, a bit too gash?
Could you live with green seats for a few years?

The grey/black interior may not be very imaginative but it works nicely without shouting in your face every time you open the door. Am I a scaredy cat for feeling a little apprehensive about it.

That gearbox though, that's a thing of beauty.

I don't think its as good as the gearbox on the 458 tbh (mechanically not aesthetically ofcourse)(-:

I'm going to test drive again. Soon but it didn't seem as smooth!
Interesting.
I haven't driven a 458 but I'm surprised anything could be smother than that Lambo box, it's ridiculously good. Happy to be proved wrong though.

Splendid body colour but tricky to choose an interior, I like the burgundy some classic Lotus cars used but grey with green stitching is probably the best .
What about the boot Brad, are going for slats or glass?
Sorry C, just seen this.

You guys on here were right, the dark leather interior with the contrast stitching looked the best I thought, they had a beautiful orange car with that scheme and it worked perfectly.

If I go Lambo then definitely glass engine cover, I think the slat thing is odd looking, the only thing I didn't like about the cars aesthetics, other than that it is just beautiful up close in those shouty colours. The glass isn't available till first quarter next year but I won't be ordering until then and it's a 9 month build time anyway.

Drove the car, had the chat and left it at that for now. Great service and experience from the guys at Sevenoaks as ever but I need to get in the 650s before making any decisions, it's a day off work job though and I am so busy at the moment.

The Huracan seems pretty faultless as far as I could tell from the test drive, a little too good if anything, the super-smooth gear changes, steering feel and perfect weight make it almost remote. Clearly it would be a different thing when you got used to it and learned to chuck it around a bit better. I know people always moan about the clunky feel of the LP's gearbox but I like to know when something is happening, I want to feel the car talking back to me. The Huracan's box (which was frankly phenomenal) sort of detached me from the drive a bit.

Nitpicking I know, it is a fantastic car and heart-stoppingly beautiful in the Verdi. I'm sure the 650 will be equally transparent in it's gear changes anyway so whichever way I go I'm going to have to get used to that.

Oh, and a final edit to say I had a quick look at the Aventador. If I sell a kidney (and two of the other halfs!)and eat only thin soup for the next 5 years I could probably just about get in one, but my god it's a lump! Too big I think to enjoy it without worrying about where you leave it all the time.

Imagine that though, an Aventador, I had to drag myself away from the thing before the sales guy realised I might actually be considering it!

Still, you're a long time dead eh? (No NO NO! Stop it!)

GET ONE BRAD!!!! laugh

Seriously, you are a long time dead fella. biggrin

Just imagine, A V12 Lamborghini - go on Brad, you know you want too - Kidneys are not THAT important anyway!!!
Stop it you git! smile

It's not going to happen Carl, it's just not going to happen.

Baby Supercars I'm comfortable with, the big boys are a step too far.

I've always been able to afford and enjoy the cars I've owned, they've been a pleasure without the pressure. The Aventador would be right on my limit, no safety zone.
As much as I'd like to turn up at Sainsburys in the beast and say "Hop in Carl" I know sooner or later it would bite me in the arse.

Besides, the 650s can match it in performance and the Huracan is just as gorgeous to look at, so who needs it?

In another few years things may be different but for now I'll stay in my zone and hang on to my kidneys.

smile

Thats what I was just about to post... if you buy the right Aventador isn't it going to be cheaper than the Huracan anyway ?
You're looking at a 2011 Aventador to get even near to Huracan money and that'll shortly be a 4 year old car. Low mileage no doubt but kepp it for a few years and it is starting to get long in the tooth.
As you say it probably won't take any more of a hit than the Huracan though.

Car looks fantastic in Green but the wheel colour seems to be a little plain imo.

I have to admit being a dark wheel fan though, Brad, as you know you current LP560 being White on Black is just epic imo - works a treat. cool
Cheers Carl.
It's going to be for sale soon so come on son, pony up!
(Ask your missus if she really needs both those kidneys smile)
