Sticking to your budget.

At the moment I am looking to sell my 997.1 GT3 and get something mid-engined and, as you do, I am trawling the classifieds with a budget. The problem is budget creep!
£75k ..... but if I spend just a little more I can get a .... so I start looking for them.....then I think 'ooh, if I am going to spend this much then for just a few grand more I can get the' ...... I have always wanted one of those.....
All of a sudden the budget has crept up by 30%/40%/50% and I give myself a slap, reset and start again!
Have you ever gone out to buy something and ended up with something completely different?
Surely there must be some stories in this forum of epic budget creep, lets hear them please
