How many times have other owners seen complete bell ends drive like absolute reckless idiots just to get passed?

Was absolutely shocked last night by the antics of a plain dark grey Vauxhall of some description! I saw it in the mirror in the half light and backed right
off thinking it was the old bill. He caught up and overtook me into a blind bend on an A road near Market Harborough Northampton, absolute tw.t!

That went well LOL

My point being, I wish minions ( biggrin ) wouldn't risk killing themselves and, more importantly others, with reckless overtakes just to gain pub bragging rights that "I overtook a Mclaren, Ferrari etc etc". It was genuinely outrageous and indeed scary to witness!
I have found out today the vehicle in question pulled out of a well known local gypsy site, explains a lot...

There has been an occasion whilst pressing on in the Evora on B roads where I have had to slow up because I genuinely thought the guy behind trying to keep up in his Golf GTi was going to go off the road on some of the bends.

In this case the evora (not a supercar) was superior at cornering to the golf, but of course the golf would be superior for a trip to Tesco top get the weeks shopping
I actually went back to check the road after a bike that I was "Playing" with disappeared from behind me... Let them go now, it's not clever ;-)

Classic British reaction, OP gets told off for choice of words, when infact the serious issue here is the pr$ck with a driving licence who could have had a head on collision with an oncoming car, possibly a young family of 4

Grow up chaps.
except of course we only have the OPs story

on my cross country commute there are a number of places where you can pass perfectly safely especially if you use the sight lines across the fields etc ... but the amount of 42 mph everywhere gimboids who flash and beep if you pass them ...
Yeah right... Mclaren 650 V Vauxhall Vectra, that was always going to be a safe overtake...

I have to agree with the opc's point about the fact super cars attract idiots !

I am so bored with it I just pull over and let them pass, it seems I take the wind out of their sales

And brings my blood pressure down

Which, to be fair, is exactly what I was doing when he made his crazy pass into the blind right hander!

I only drive a humble Fiesta Zetec S, and I do absolutely cane it (I like driving pretty hard), but obviously am aware of towns villages etc. But the amount of dreadful driving I see on a daily basis is horrific. Old people I find are HORRENDOUS, at pulling out at junctions either without looking or at the very last minute causing you to almost pull an emergency stop.

In regards to the OP I completely understand what you mean, I helped a friend take, and bring back his 430 when it was in for repair, and the amount of knobs you get on the motorway is ridiculous, trying to undertake dangerously etc just to prove a point. One lady in a 1.4 A3, undertook us both and then slammed on her brakes in front of the Fezza. I genuinely don't understand how some individuals are allowed to have licenses. I do think that certain cars bring out the dad/boy racers out more readily though e.g. bright red 430/458 aventador etc.

Another issue, on A roads/motorways especially is phone use with super cars, trying to catch them up to take a photo and almost swerving into the car trying to take a photo. I completely understand why they want to take a photo but the amount of times Ive seen it happen its unreal.

The class of the individual is not necessarily the point, its more that those in less powerful cars seem to almost want to prove themselves against a much faster vehicle, almost like willy wagging to say I overtook a porsche etc!

Post from a student driver in a humble ford fiesta biggrin
Thank you my friend biggrin Did I mention the amount of drivers I see in the rearview videoing?

Which is the right thing to do - whether you are driving a McLaren or a 2CV.

The only difference in overtaking something over which you don't have a decisive accelerative advantage is that the driver has the option of trying to kill you. Most people wouldn't, even if they could, though some would. It's an oafish thing to do, puts the perpetrator at risk of a life-altering criminal conviction and one would hope that someone who has the interest in cars and has enough brains to have accrued the means to buy a supercar would be less likely than average to do it.
Don't be so sure. Many super cars are purchased through the proceeds of crime (clear by the odd article eg tbops / surin / Mike boparan....how many have not been caught yet?)
Rest assured mine has been purchased through hard graft, risk, a bit of luck, saving and a awful lot of payments to HMRC ;-)

Valid points from both camps there. It does however, rightly or wrongly, for me, pull at the heartstrings more on reading that youngsters have been killed in accidents.
I think we can all agree, nobody wants to see anybody hurt, or indeed killed, in road traffic collisions. Just remember folks, don't pull silly overtakes in "Lesser Cars" on Supercars just for bragging rights! biglaugh

That's another good one...why should people leave a bigger gap from the car in front because it, or they, have a child on board?

Those "keep back, child in board" stickers are the epitome of that.

So, it's quite ok to tailgate someone if there are no children in either car? What sort of crap is this? And people seem to spout it in all sincerity.
I thought it was a warning to other road users that the parent will be screaming at the child to "Pack it in" or cleaning vomit up whilst trying to concentrate on driving biggrin
