It’s a question that has continued to baffle academics, stirred the soul of man since the primal spluttering of that first internal combustion engine and (inevitably) fuelled many a forum thread … which car is fastest off the line?

Here is YOUR chance to help us find out, as we put the call out for a small number of very special supercars to complete our ultimate line up and discover who is the real ‘king of the strip’. PistonHeads is working with our colleagues at Autocar and our PHTV film crew for what can only be described a drag race extravaganza to be filmed and streamed across both publications.

Yes, we want as many supercars as possible to take part and go 0-60 and beyond!

The event will take place over the course of two days on the 2nd and 3rd of September at Alconbury airfield, where we will be will be filming each individual shootout along the main runway of the former US airbase.

You might have the car that we need to complete our ultimate line up, and have the opportunity to show an audience of thousands just how good you are behind the wheel of your pride and joy.

The shortlist of cars we’re after includes:

Ferrari F12
Ferrari La Ferrari
Ferrari F40
Ferrari F50
Lamborghini Aventador
Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
Lamborghini Huracan
Lamborghini Murcielago (any variety)
Porsche 911 Turbo S (991)
Lexus LFA

This isn’t an exhaustive list and if you have a car you think should be there by all means make your case!

If you are the proud owner of one of these fabulous supercars and you would like to take part them please send and email to [e-mail] with your name, car registration, the name of the registered keeper, your availability whether for one or both days … and the total loss value of the car for insurance purposes. Please note that although we will fully cover each vehicle on our company insurance, we cannot cover the cost of tyres, or wear and tear occurred on the day. You’ll be driving so it’s up to you how hard you want to go!

We have more on the list, but those are the key cars that the Editors wanted on the 'grid'. We are open to all offers, though. The more the better
