Been thinking of buying an F430 for a while, I was looking at 360s but as business has been good recently I can extend my budget up to 80k now. So I started looking at other options and realised the Gallardo is also in my price range.

I would be interested on opinions on both cars. It would be a weekend car and not used daily or in bad weather. Might do a few trips to south of france, spain etc... I have driven an F430 and enjoyed it, made the mistake of driving a 458 afterwards which unfortunately is out of my price range. I have never driven a Lambo.

Running costs are not too important unless their is a massive cost between the 2.

Thank you all for the replies.

At the moment I am thinking Lambo but I will probably change my mind lots of times before I actually buy.

On the running costs front how do the 2 compare?? are their any nasty surprises. For example I years ago I had to replace the gear box on my Merc CLK 55 AMG due to water leaking into the gearbox oil. A common problem that the specialist I took the car to missed and it cost about 5k to put right. I always have a contingency fund for such things but want to know how big it needs to be. Also how much to budget for yearly maintenance. (The wife might not be happy as it means she can't buy as many shoes wink

I know with these sorts of cars you need a decent fund of money every year to service and maintain them. I don't intend on doing loads of miles, just weekend fun and the odd european road trip.

5k a year was what I was thinking. How long do clutches last? is there any way of checking the clutch wear when buying? independant inspection??
