Hi all.

I have been a professional mechanic for 11 years now.
For the past 4 years or so I have been an HGV Technician in HGV Main Dealers.
As of Jan/Feb I will be moving to the High Wycombe area and I am looking to pursue a career change into classic/prestige/super car work; older the better.
Can anyone suggest advice/leads, aside from the usual "Get in touch with garage, see what they say". (Have started to do this now I have c3 months left before moving).
I've been a petrolhead since a very young age and now I am in my late 20's I feel confident enough in my abilities to try chasing this dream.

Thanks in advance, Stuart.

Hi Stuart. Just send your CV and a decent covering letter to as many specialists and dealers as you can. It's getting hard to find decent techs, and many places will be willing to train good, passionate technicians. Shame your a bit far from my place, we are always on the lookout for prospective technicians. Good luck!
The best response I could have hoped for, someone doing the role I want...! Lol.
Cars, older the better, their smell and sounds have always captivated me.
I think I'll spend some time bringing my CV fully up to date this coming week then.
I found Slades Garage near me, so sent them a quick message.

Thanks for the help, Stuart.

Hi Ian.

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply.
I have actually been to DK Engineering, but only to view from the outside (think I was riding my motorbike and stopped off).
Ferraris (as well as Jaguars) have always been a particular favourite so as soon as I was in the area I had to take a look.
Reference my CV, that would be greatly appreciated yes.
May I ping you a PM?

Thanks again, Stuart.
