Some misinformation seems to be out there at the moment regarding the new official warranty prices for all the Aventador models.

After speaking to a dealer today, the new prices I have been quoted are: (all aventador models)

£7,063 inc vat per year if your car is currently under warranty. (Roughly a £500 increase)
£10,600 inc vat per year if your car is out of warranty! A massive £4,000 increase !

Not sure what you mean, just to clarify these prices are from a U.K franchised dealer (Selezione Lamborghini Certified).
There used to be some high end independent dealers that would be able to up sell a suitable warranty with a 'up to the vehicle value claim limit' when a car is bought through them, but the last 3 or 4 I have inquired about, all had a single warranty claim limit of only 5 or 10k, so pretty useless on a used aventador.
Over the years I have had to have 3 aventador gearbox replacements, and also a huracan performante engine replacement.
All thankfully covered without issue, thanks to having the official but very expensive warranty in place.
I also swallow the silly main dealer servicing costs, but I am unsure how, or if the big warranty claim costs would be covered, without the correct main dealer service history in place.
I know the first thing they checked when making a claim under the warranty was that the car was unmodified, and then that the service history dating back to the cars delivery date was up to date and on schedule, as I had to send pictures of my service book over to the dealer on the last 2 large claims.

The gearbox was about 22k plus labour (around 30k fitted with the main dealer labour rates now at approx £270 per hour inc vat).
Performante engine replacement was around a 60k claim including fitting!
Gearbox issues are a well known problem with aventadors (all models and years including the SVJ etc).
You really have to like them to put up with the extra servicing and warranty costs over and above a Huracan.
I would say the Huracan platform from the performante / Evo model onwards, is a better car even, just that the aventador is more of an event to drive, you have to concentrate a lot more, a larger road presence and is a much rarer sight on our roads these days as huracan's and Urus models are a daily sight.

My 1st gearbox replacement, it was fine for approx 2.5 years and 14.5k miles before having to be replaced again!

None of those, I have used them more than most owners I guess, but never done a trackday or even done silly launch controls.
Clutch wear readings have all shown minimal wear, as I have previously owned 2 e-gear gallardo's, so learned to drive correctly and not to wear out the clutch etc. Reversing up a hill is the quickest way to eat the clutch on these, so never attempt that.
Gearbox's are just the weakest point for the aventador model.
They are used a bit more in the U.S and it is more common over there to have cars with higher miles put on them.
I have read some real horror stories where owners have spent 10 to 20k dollars trying to fix the gearbox with independant garages and specialists, only to get no-where and having to fork out 40k dollars for a new gearbox.
The cars, parts and labour costs in the U.S for exotics are quite a bit more expensive than here!

No problem, I will send you a private message, my car is a year newer than yours and was bought from Lamborghini Edinburgh with 2 years warranty as part of the deal, I am not sure if this makes a difference. This warranty is due to expire around December this year.
I would only want to post factual information on here, so I will forward you the quote I have received.
