I know that there was a thread about this recently, but theres a new video which shows a bit more. I heard it was some type of gangsters that had hired the car, not entirely sure what to think but here is the video anyway:

You can hear it crash on the video. They are bloody idiots and really should be thrown in prison for that sort of driving. And then for not even moving the damned thing and blocking the road is just crazyness.

Yeah tell me about it. It just shows a complete lack of appreciation for the machine that is.

You well Simon?

w4ankers. That sounded like medium revs in 3rd gear - that's on it's way to 100mph, is it not?

Absolute tts and I hope they suffered appropriately.

yes How can you tell it was third? The speed looks more like second to me. A rough estimate that 640 will do, 55 in first? So 80ish in second? Probably more actually. I doubt it could be third. But then again could be wrong. I really am not getting anywhere here...

you can see the guy holding his head that looks like he must have been driving, bet he's thinking of the £20-30k deposit they took off him on his credit card that he won't be getting back laugh

Like the way that 3 police cars, police van and horse all turn up to have a look cop

Do you mean the quite youngish guy wearing the black t-shirt who reversed it out of the lamp-post(rofl)? He only looked around 22-25.

Complete and utter nose.

I'll say it again that the driver is a ing cock and I can only hope that the well known recognition that PH has mean hes reading this now.

The only thing I'm a bit skeptical about is the fact that on swift hires site it describes the 640 as being green, when I would say it was beige, bronze, gold, or champagne. Definately not green. It is obviously theres though and just a formality.

A quick google gives you this. But it doesn't look like any of these to me.

I'm sure those in the know will know.

I'd say at a guess that may be slightly outdated, and not taking into account the 640? Just a guess.

Could you let them know about this video? If they don't already.

Do we know how old the driver was? The guy who moves it out of the pole looks not a lot older than 20, and I think he probably was the driver as he had a face like a wet fish.

It's a miracle noone was killed. It is incredible that there are people who think it is OK to give a car like that to someone who has no insurance - this is not the hire companies fault of course. We suspected that one of our cars were being sub-hired to underage drivers, so we caught the guy red handed and took the car off him in the middle of Glasgow. Incerdibly the driver was 20 years old, and was not the same guy we had delivered the car to. Even more incredibly, the hirer than rang up to complain that we had acted in an unprofessional manner for recovering the car. He then said he would have smashed the car up and gladly have lost his £5k deposit to teach us a lesson. He lost his deposit anyway.

ing hell mate. The further away you are from those sort of people, the better.
