I've read a few things saying that Ferrari have decided not to make any more manual cars, however I've also read things saying that they will but it will just be an option.

Does anyone know the truth? I will be gutted if they don't. That 458 in manual would be pornographic!

I really hope it's not true! I know flappy paddles are getting better and better now a days and to be honest I wouldn't say know to one if it was good enough. The trouble is it's just not as involving as a manual. I could cope with them charging a bit more for a manual, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Ferrari don't stop making them completely.

Why do you think it's not as involving ?

F1 / Paddle shift is the way forward.

It's a bit like saying ABS or traction control is less involving -
"doesn't give you the same feel". Debatable but you wouldn't spec a car today without it.
No paddle sts are less involving. You can't blip the throttle yourself, you can't heal and toe. I see the point completely in flappy paddles and as I said earlier I wouldn't rule out rule one out.

What I don't get though is a Porshce 911 Nissan GTR is technically a much better car than a 430 or Gallardo, however it is always argued that they are a bit sterile and dare I say it boring. So surely then by that logic although an F1 box is technically better, but it isn't really as fun as a manual wink

Still regardless of whether an F1 box is better or not surely they could still offer manual as an option.

Really.eek What are you basing that on please. The 911 was designed in the dark ages.
Ok to avoid a 911 vs Ferrari argument I shall change my point and say that a Nissan GTR is technically better than a 430 or Gallardo because it is, however just because it's technically better doesn't mean it's "better" if you know what I mean.
