Gallardo - Front Lift - Option or Standard?
Discussion
Well to get to my parking area I have to go over a pavement (thats been dropped) but it has a bit of a hump to the pavement and isnt perfectly flat.... I currently have a V8 Vantage and with 2 people in the car the MIDDLE of the car between the front and rear wheels will sometimes rub ever so slightly, it is fine with just me in the car.
So I think the Gallardo is a lower car, and I do not want to risk buying a car that I cannot get on to my parking area.... The lift option seems like a sensible thing to aim for, as it should certainly remove the risk of rubbing?

From research the "ride height" on my V8V is 5.5"
The ride height on the Gallardo is 5.1"
So assuming all things equal I lose about 1.5CM max between the two cars... What I am going to do is go and park my aston on the bump with 1 person in the car, and try to measure the gap, it may be I can get away with a non-lifting car, but I need to be very sure!
The nose is fine because its quite a gradual bump and the short nose means the front wheels go "up" before any rubbing, it is just when the car is directly over the pavement equally between the front and back wheels that the middle of the car has been know to very very lightly rub, so thats where I need to be very sure!
thanks for the replies..

Hi Sab
Yes and from what I can tell the Wheelbase on the Gallardo is a little shorter which helps:
AM V8V Wheelbase: 2,600 mm (102.5 in)
Gallardo Wheelbase: 2,560 mm (100.8 in)
It's hard to find an official "ride height" dimension for both but it appears the Gallardo is 5.1" and the Aston 5.6".
So with the front lifted 2" it should compensate 1" in the middle of the car, and I should be fine.... theoretically!
