After 5 happy years of Gransport ownership, I have finally decided to bite the bullet and am upgrading to a Granturismo S. I had one last weekend and with the right, interior, exterior and wheels combo, it is one stunning car. It is no faster but by god, what a fantastic exhaust sound in sport mode and sooo much louder than my GS with a Tubi ramore exhaust.

I have agonisied over this decision as I put a lot of love into my GS which is absolutely mint and which I bought new in 2005.

I just hope I have made the right decision,,, I'll know in a few weeks.

Sorry, I was alluding to the performance comparision betwenn the GS and the Granturismo S. The GS is about 200KG lighter than the Granturismo so 400BHP on the GS is on a par with 440BHP on the Granturismo S. Where there is a noticable difference is the the tourque and the way the GT S delivers its power much earlier. On the GS, you really have to rev it and keep it on the boil all the time if you want to press on.

I still like the quirkiness of the GS interior and the Granturismo S interior is much more modern (clearly!) so making it look more like other marques, where the GS/Coupe interior is very individual. However the bright red interior on the GT S just sold it for me along with the exhaust in sport mode.

Anyone on here happy with their GT S's?

It is the MC Shift that I have bought. The one I tested was also an MC Shift. I would always prefer a manual so if I can not have that, then the next best thing is an automated manual.

The difference in the box evolution is just that, an evolution. If you drove a 2005 Coupe and a 2005 GS in sport mode, you would notice a big difference (I never drove my GS in non-sport mode ever in 5 years). For 2005, it was right up there. With the 2010 model year GTS, the difference is very marked, not in a way that the GS box feels crap (I drove it yesterday and really enjoyed the drive, not once thinking this was archaic compare to the GTS), it's just that the GTS is sooo quick and smooth whilst you can still feel that manual clunk as gears shift. The technology is virtually the same as the 430 Scud apparrently and is virtualy as quick. I certainly could not find a lag or delay.

Only downside is that like the GS, it will not take a Bugaboo in the boot which was my salesman's USP (unique selling point) to the wife with No. 2 due in 4 weeks. My 5 year old daughter asked why we couldn't just get a smaller pram. Genius!!

Sorry guys, I stand corrected on which Ferrari it was compared to. Still fast enough though.
