I was most fortunate to get a ride in Bebessen's 360 Modena at Bruntingthorpe today. I've been a Ferrari fan for a good few years and read the various reports and posts from owners or other fans. It was my first time even sitting in a Ferrari. I keep reading that there is something special about a Ferrari, but its hard to describe.

I can completely agree with this thought. The experience starts when you open the door and realise that you're about to get into a Ferrari. You sit down and look around. Looking behind yourself you can see the glorious V8 engine. It's sitting there in a docile manner, just waiting to be unleashed down the track.

There is a real aura inside the cabin. The build quality is solid but feels almost alive, in that the car is more than mechanical. Once Brian turned the key, the V8 sparked into life before regaining a gentle rhythm. It's the stereotypical ferrari sound; a sense of what's to come, and then the accelerator is dabbed and the howling shreak of the Tubi comes into play.

We lined up next to Adamt in the M5 and the battle commenced

We got the early lead although it was a bit too close to relax. We pushed on down to the right hander that sends us towards the main runway.

Once the main runway was beneath us the climb towards our V-Max continued and it impressed me how sure-footed the 360 felt. It's not a big car at all, but felt planted all the way up to the top speed of 171mph.

The braking was equally impressive, feeling very balanced and progressive down to the cornering speed.

The whole experience summed up the saying that one buys a Ferrari with one's head. It's a lot of money to spend on a car, but then there is a lot more to a Ferrari than just the physical car state.

Many thanks to Brian for giving me this experience, and here's a pic of his car with the backdrop of Bruntingthorpe

I thought it would be a bit faster. Hmmm... worrying....

That angle makes the 360 look more like the classical Ferrari shapes. Fantastic!

Blooming heck, what a day!

Got an email last week from Bebbesen saying he fancied coming out of the city and would i mind showing him some local roads in north Bucks...

What a day. Basically an afternoon of driving around some of my favourite roads in the 360. Drove down the B4011 a few times and stopped off at a nice pub for a quick drink.

Brian was also kind enough to take my mum and her friend out for a quick blast. Finally she agrees that owning a Ferrari is incredibly special. Like a true Petrolhead she even said "its awesome to be a passenger, but i really think driving it would be superior". I've taught her well!

Quite a wide car so it didn't like the narrow country lanes around here, but out on the B and A roads and it is just magnificent!

Had a funny moment in Aylesbury with a Fiat Brava or something with a couple of chavs cruising along. Quick blast past with the Tubi wailing soon put them into place

So once again the 360 is causing my future wallet a lot of worry, but i think its inevitable i'll own one. I just love them! Just gotta earn the money first...

Now... just to get that degree....
