Hi all, many thanks to Paul for offering Piston Heads help with regards to helping promote this event for a very good cause. In my capacity as the Sporting Bears South West Rep it gives me great pleasure to let you all know about a fantastic day out that the team I am working with have organised.

TITLE

Planes, Games & Automobiles at Goodwood June 4th 0900-1700

WHY

The event is in aid of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Childrens Fund RNRM Childrens Fund with all proceeds going directly to the charity. Formed in 1902 it is one the oldest childrens charity in the UK. They support children with mental and physical disabilities, however due to operations in Afghanistan the support to families due to bereavement has risen sharply over the last few years.

As we can all see from the news, the fatalities have been heavy and the charity is committed to looking after the bereaved children and supports them up to the age of 21. Over the course of 2010/11 we assisted 1600 children at an average cost of 798 per child. Of these:

49% were suffering from a disability or mental or physical illness.
40% were due to the consequence of parental illness or death.
11% due to the impact of parental relationship problems (these are increasingly due to the parents post traumatic stress)

THE EVENT

This event will have three main elements focusing on providing a great day out for families and petrol heads alike. Hi Bob,
Thanks for a very generous offer and boy-oh-boy would I love to see and hear you on track but I'm sorry to sat that the 98dB applies to all aspects of the track day. BUT don't be disheartened as we are looking for car clubs to display as a club in the Dynamic Driving area and we still have plenty of space in Paddock 2 for static displays for individuals. smile
If you would like any further info please PM or phone me.

Thanks

Simon
Great addition Bob, as you know that track element may well be off due to the noise level of the Typhon but I know for a fact your car will be very welcome for the Dream Rides part of the event :-)

HI Clive, great to see you are interested in this as your car would be absolutely stunning there. You dont have to be a member, I wasnt when I did the Dream Rides at the NEC, I will warn you though that once you have done one if you are like me you will be hooked, its such a rewarding thing to do and I soon parted with my £20 annual membership fee :-)

The Dream Rides will be on the open road on a 10 mile course around the circuit and the passenger laps are on the track. Give me a shout at work if you want and i can talk you through it, sometimes easier than forums and emails :-) be great to catch up. PS i have had no reply from the TVROC, nudge, nudge wink

roger that mate give me a call anytime, i am only really out of the office for lunch so 1200 to 1300. Dont worry about the Bears as I am re-invigorating the South West and Huw is all over the South East, I have some great events lined up, some right up your street I reckon, that is if you want to get behind the scenes and up close to the engineering with the likes of

Ta muchly. Looking forward to it. TBH I dont think it will get under the DB limit at Goodwood, although I have just knocked 8-9db out of it by making and fitting an airbox. We shall see!
The Dream Rides for the Bears are unrestricted winkbut we could really do with the track cars

Clive is right, the Sporting Bears will be doing the Dream Rides and those that cant make the track due to noise issues will be wholeheartedly welcomed to help with that aspect of the day. Dont worry as we are looking at a 105dB for next years event :-)

Also big thanks to Clive for spreading the word and great to see the TVR signups, brilliant, lets get the word out there and make it a fantastic day

Some great news, VMax 200 have kindly offered some amazing support to the event and have also offered a prize for our raffle:

VMAX Ticket worth £200 - VMAX 200

Courtesy of VMAX 200, this prize offers the winner the chance to burn up the long runway at Bruntingthorpe airfield to test their top speed safely and legally. The prize can only be claimed by the owner of a car capable of 150-160mph due to VMAX maintaining a high standard of cars attending.

They have even said that if the winner does not own a suitably fast enough car then they will supply a Supercar for them.

Fantastic.

Hi Baz,

I'm rubbish on these things so am struggling to add my name to the list but I am planning to come and display my car as a static display if that's ok?

TVR Chimaera 450. Would love to offer track rides but it's too loud sadly :-(

Thanks,

Rich
Thanks for the signup all done for you, excellent support from the TVR gang, if you are too loud for the track have you considered the Dream Rides?
