Ferrari Racing Days Sunday Service round up

Sunday mornings are always better when they've got a Maranello-tuned soundtrack

Last Sunday saw us returning to Silverstone for a Ferrari Racing Days Sunday Service. For the uninitiated this is an exclusive day of racing. For Ferraris. Simple really. Access for normal spectators costs £20 per person but we were able to offer two entry tickets and a programme for each of the 500 cars signed up with PH.

Anyway, this meant that along with the normal Sunday Service activities of drinking tea, eating bacon and browsing the eclectic mix of PHer metal, there was plenty to see courtesy of Maranello.

The track was kept busy throughout the day with Ferraris and the drivers put on quite a show to keep the crowds entertained. Watching 458s race fast and close with their grid of flat-plane V8s is really quite a feast for the eyes and ears.

In between races there was everything from retired F1 racers to the fearsome "XX" cars being put through their paces. Away from the track the paddock was so full of past and present legends that apparently most of Northamptonshire appeared Rosso Corsa from space. Maybe.

It was an excellent event and one we hope to return to in future. After all, it isn't often that you see enough 458 Speciales in one place that you pass them without a second glance.

Furthermore, and as with all Sunday Services, it was great for us to meet so many PHers - and we look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at future events. Speaking of which we've got several Sunday Services in the pipeline, so keep your eyes peeled for updates very soon.

This was my first Sunday Service. Fantastic is the only way to describe it. Both the PH's car park and the vast array of Ferrari's. I'm looking forward to the next one now biggrin
