Porsche Silverstone Sunday Service round up

Loads of cars and great weather made for another superb Sunday Service!

With bad weather forecast, it was a nervous wait for Sunday morning to arrive. Luckily the rain avoided Silverstone and we enjoyed a bright and brisk autumnal morning at the Porsche Experience Centre.

Oh wow
Oh wow
The Twisted Defender attracted plenty of attention on the way to Silverstone (funny that...) and did an excellent job as a PH beacon to direct cars in. As always, the collection of cars on show was fantastic, a real testament to the diversity of interests on PH. A pat on the back to all of you!

There really was all sorts, from a beautiful Mint Green 997.2 GT3 (one of many 911s representing our hosts very nicely) to a wonderfully unmolested Renault 5 Gordini. Talk about a blast from the past! Due respect as well to those of you braving the chilly weather and arriving roofless in various Caterhams and Morgans. Very hardy of you! It didn't take long to pretty much to fill the Porsche handling track so, again, thanks to all who attended. Makes for a great pic!

Stiff enough?
Stiff enough?
The Panamera passenger rides were very popular with the drivers kept busy and the lovely collection of Porsches inside was getting plenty of attention as well. We also had a few non-PHer members of the public that were watching the races at Silverstone wandering around to check out the cars. More recruits!

We'd like to say a massive thank you to the guys at Porsche and look forward to seeing you at Zenos on Sunday.

eybic and the PH team

It was a fabulous gathering - well worth a windy blast in the Saab Convertible (only one there - woohoo!) for my first SS. My 7 year old loved walking around the handling track and thought that mint green 911 was superb. Didn't like the Lamborghinis though (he'll learn).

We spent most of the day watching the racing and if I may feedback one negative it's that the officious security guys in stickered-up vans wouldn't let us take the car into the infield without a car pass. This was a bit disappointing as I'd pre-purchased a weekend rover ticket specifically to watch the racing. We ended up in the main car park then walked back in.

Still, it made a great day out and the spectacle of PHers' cars on display was brilliant - thanks PH!
