F1 Austria 2015 taking the car, any tips appreciated.

As above really, a group of us have booked for the Austrian F1 next year.
We have booked the accommodation in Gratz, after a lot of hunting the city is almost full already.
Can somebody give me the low down on transport to the track, do we take the cars, taxis or is there a train?
We are taking a week to get there and back, is there any must see areas on the way there and back, already plan to go into the mountains.
We are going there blind any tips welcome.
We did Monza the year before last and can help if anybody plans to go there next year.

BMW320IRL many thanks for the information, we will look at the places you recommended, and you are correct we are taking the cars from the UK.
If we take the train from Gratz does it go straight to the race circuit, when we get off the train do we need a taxis to get to the circuit or can we walk it?
Do we need to buy the train tickets in advance?
If we take the cars to the circuit what is the parking like, and the security?
Would it be better to take a taxis from Gratz seeing as there will be 8 of us, any idea of the cost?
