Ive just started a thread in the General Motorsport forum but have realised that this forum might be more appropriate so here it is again.

This is just a heads up to inform people that the Firle Hillclimb is being revived and will take place on the 20th September.

Some of you may be old enough to remember this, I live nearby so used to go and watch it in the sixties, unfortunately it closed in 1967 just when I got my driving licence so I was never able to take part.

It sounds like it will be a bit "Revival" in style and will be open to cars from the fifties to the eighties, the website is www.bopeepdriversclub.com if anyone wants any more information.

I'll be going along to take a look this year and hopefully if my nephew gets his Anglia finished we might enter next year.

Yes, it was an Elan and it was in 1967, the people were walkers who actually should not have been in the area from what I could gather.

I used to watch but was too young to do the competition years. I had a Cortina then a Mini and then an Elan from 1967 to 1971 though and quite often used to take them up the hill during a quiet weekday with my friend sitting next to me with a stopwatch.

We'd go up and down first to check there were no vehicles likely to be coming down as we were going up then away we'd go, I seem to remember the Elan was right on the hill record for the day, great fun but you couldn't do that sort of thing now.

I did write out some directions in the thread I started in the General Motorsport Forum, take a look at that.
