Prodrive Sunday Service 19/02

Full details of our first 2017 Sunday Service, at a new venue as well!

Our first Sunday Service of 2017 is here! We're heading to Banbury where the good people of Prodrive will very kindly open their doors to us. It's our first Sunday Service event with Prodrive and what better venue to start the year with?! It looks like being a fantastic morning.

Prodrive was founded in 1984 by former World Rally Championship winning co-driver, David Richards, and they've gone from strength to strength since. In 33 years it has won six WRC titles, five World Sportscar championships and four British Touring Car Championships to name but a few! And Prodrive is mostly known for its motorsport heritage, it also has a massively successful technologies aspect, too, and we'll get to have a nose around the facilities to see how Prodrive thrives!

This event will be taking place on February 19 at Prodrive's factory in Banbury. Prodrive will have its on-site restaurant open for us, so you can have your breakfast before the fun begins. Its facility will be open for all to have a good wander around, and there will also be presentations running throughout the morning, which will explain what Prodrive does and answer any questions you may have. These presentations aren't compulsory, but if you do want to include it in your morning, they will be on a first come, first serve basis (sign up when you arrive) to cater for around 80 people each.

We have space for 250 cars, but plus ones, kids/partners (if they want to...) are all welcome at this event! Sign up here.

See you there!

The PH Team.

Prodrive Sunday Service
When:
Sunday February 19, 0900h-1200h
Where: Prodrive, Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 4XD
Cost: None, but we love biscuits!
Spaces: 250

I've always driven passed here and taken an interest and previously had a peer through the windows of the old facility so looking forward to this!

It's not really needed.

I navigate to Pistonheads directly to "My stuff" and then navigate around using "what's new" rather than going to PH.com.

Not only that but I may not look every day, sign up to a Sunday Service Newsletter, and get E-mailed when events are released, it's pretty simple. smile
Then that is how you use the site. It's not PH fault. The Sunday service calendar states what days it will be released and there was even a hint around what time of day it would be.

The email method potentially won't be as quick so then people would complain they received an email and it was already full.

Really looking forward to this one, just wish I'd still got my Impreza now.
I'm sure the guys at prodrive are sick to death of Subarus these days. And probably Aston martins too!

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... There are rules and penalties for no shows as long as it's enforced.

anyone know if theres any parking nearby and in walking distance?
there is a retail park very close by!
I'm not sure that's in the spirit of SS' - to turn up if you don't make the list

The retail park is a good 10 minute walk
Agreed, and we don't want to annoy venues or PH end up losing them like MB World.

I'm just going to apologise now for how dirty my car is...

Looking forward to this, only 10 minutes down the road and haven't visited the new Prodrive.
Shocking! I was going to clean my car but with over 100miles to travel Sunday morning it will just be filthy again.

I didn't bother to wash mine for the Goodwood SS and felt slightly out of place amongst the cleaner cars, thus mine will be washed on Saturday though with about 90 miles of driving to do it won't be OCD clean, more like a general 'get rid of the muck' clean
Now you're making me feel bad. Maybe I'll give a quick once over tomorrow morning.

4 people talking of parking elsewhere on the Facebook event and walking in. Is that in the spirit of a Sunday Service?

Superb morning a big thankyou to those at Prodrive and at PH for arranging the morning. I didn't mind the line of cars entering as it was an excuse to grab a costa and stretch my legs.

Some great cars on display both inside and out, although I would echo what I put in the general SS forum which is I believe the events shouldn't go live on Facebook. The events fill up quick enough with genuine members without it getting clogged up with users who purely register based on seeing Facebook. That said there were a few individuals on Facebook who had no intention of registering as was witnessed by another member.

So PH keep up the goodwork and ditch the Facebook events listings.

Thanks PH team and Prodrive. Particular thanks for the PH guy who handed my 3 yr old some PH stickers. My Cayman is now adorned with about 20 PH smilies on the inside! Good morning out and lots of variety. Personal favourite amongst the exotica was the bright red RX-7. Had forgotten what a neat and coherent design that car was/is.
It did look good!

Good start to the year, thanks PH.

Slightly annoying seeing people say they're going to turn up even if they don't make the list. Lucky everyone doesn't take this approach.

Good photos in the links above, even though it looks like I hogged two spaces...even captured the remnants of the dead bird in my front grille

Looking forward to Silverstone already - another SS on my doorstep.
I managed to get your bird strike

Thanks to PH for organising this, and the ProDrive staff who gave up their Sunday morning.

I thought it went well, and the queue into the carpark was not and issue.

And thank you Alex for the passenger ride in the V6 Exige ("The Sparrow Killer"), without which I would not have been able to attend.

I would like to add my vote to those asking PH not to publicise SS events on other social media until PHers have had a reasonable chance to book via the forums. Some of us are busy working on Tuesday afternoons and are not able to check every 30 seconds to see when it's available.
The event for prodrive went live on Facebook after the event was fully subscribed so no point in it whatsoever.

Whilst I don't think I was anywhere near the worst offenders I'll put up my hands and apologise for a short burst of speed, I'll restrain myself in future.
