PistonHeads Sunday Service: 17/10/10

Join us at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone for what could be our biggest meet yet

Our venue, nice isn't it?
Our venue, nice isn't it?
It seems to have been a while since we announced a Sunday Service, with both of the September events being held so early in the month. Never fear, however, as the October service is approaching.

This time we are heading to another fantastic location, courtesy of fast car purveyors Porsche UK. Rather than use Porsche's Reading HQ, PistonHeads will be using the purpose-built Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone which can hold, wait for it….700 PH cars.

In addition to the usual Sunday Service ingredients of readers' cars, PHers, breakfast baps and coffee, our friends at Porsche will be laying on some (free) entertainment for you to enjoy during the morning. A selection of Porsche cars will be on display (as you would expect), but in addition you can have a building tour enabling you to see behind the scenes at the Experience Centre, and a pro driver will be doing some demonstration drives on the low-friction handling circuit.

Silverstone needs no introduction to PHers, but the Porsche Experience Centre might be new to many of you. To access the site, you need to enter the Silverstone circuit, pass through the security gates and turn right, following the perimeter road to the Porsche building. We’ll ensure the building is clearly signposted on the day, so you should find your way there with ease.

The date for this event is Sunday 17th October with doors opening at 09.00 and closing at 13.00. This promises to be a great event, so make sure you get it in the diary, and then sign youself up for a reserved space using the PistonHeads calendar, as if you're not on the list, we'll have to send you away. We do have 700 spaces, though, so there should be plenty of room for all.

PistonHeads would like to thank the fine folks at Porsche UK for their hospitality, and we look forward to seeing you all there.

Sounds like a larf I'll be there with my maserati gransport mc victory (129/180) can we have a go on the track with our own cars?

Pete
Porsche do offer driving experiences at silverstone, including in your own car. Obviously you have to pay (check out the website for details). I think we are parking on their track, so I doubt it'll be happening during the event, happy to be corrected.

Can I turn up in a 75 bmw 2002tii or is this for more modern performance cars ?
Paul
I'm going in a '77 Stag, so you won't be the only classic. Can't speak for anyone else but i'd like to see your car.

Really looking forward to this!

Unfortunatly you can add me to the list of people who said they would bring something (well, only slightly) interesting and am now coming in something boring...fixing the inlet manifold on the Stag has not gone well, one of the heads on one of the bolts holding it to the head has twisted off so I'll be there in a BMW 328i instead. Hopefully you don't mind if I don't edit my calander entry, just in case!

Thanks PH and Porsche for a great event! Very well run, loads of very nice cars. Also got to have a passenger lap in the Panamera which was a right laugh. The drive there and back was pretty good too, seeing so many nice cars on the road.
