my 2.7d jeep grand cherokee emits black smoke when accelorating hard

fantastic advise thanks
i will take a look
150k so i thing the injectors could be the culprit
is there an easy way of checking the wear on them ?

back again
had jeep at garage , leak back test done and ok after 1 injector replaced , shows up with no fault codes and have changed air filter and derv filter ( which were fine anyway )
stumped !!!
HELP

it is a 2.7 crd ( merc engine ) on a 52 plate with 150k
it emits black reek under hard acceloration
but also is smoky at idle , but grey not black ( not oil though )

what is the best way to find out / check for that ?

now changed the air and derv filters
worse than ever !
pulled the wire off the sensor thing at the airfilter outlet and the smoke stopped ,,,, but it ran like a pig !
next move ??#

No it never was , and is still the same
I have tried everything and everyone , including main dealer , however as no fault codes They all say no Fault ! Joke
In the event of not knowing they are now blaming the injectors , I am not so sure , but have given up !

thanks , the main dealer did some test on the injectors and gave me the results, i will dig them out and post them for comment , thanks
