Heya all.

I am not very mechanically minded but asking on behalf of my stepdad.

He has a 03 Fusion 1.4 diesel which bellows out black smoke from the exhaust. Everything is caked in black stuff under the bonnet. He cleaned up the injectors and seals a few days ago with his friend in Wales, drove 300 miles home and it started bellowing out smoke again.

Hes looking at it now and its all black again, mostly around the ones on the left hand side.

If anyone has a clue on what's going on with it that would be helpful.

Thanks

BexP

Ahrighty, I'll let him know what you said. One of the bolts has snapped from the casing on them also, would this be a problem? Thanks

Well, now he can't even get the cover back on, there's 2 bolts down the back and they will not line up. The whole thing rocks when you push one side to the other like something isn't sitting right. The 2 bolts in the back they forgot to put back in when him and his friend tried fixing it in Wales. They had 2 left over and didnt have a clue where from. Now he knows where they go, do you think under heat it's all moved out of place because those 2 bolts where missing?
