Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor

Hi...
I did check the ECT sensor from a Zafira A ( car is cutting off ) and the readings are very low when i put it into boiling water. I have another ECT sensor over here wich fits...but...the wires are not the same. I belive the sensor is for the Peugeot 205..but not sure.
I just want to test if the car does not shut off anymore with the Peugeot ECT sensor installed. The Vauxhall Zafira A ( Z18XE motor)connector for the ECT sensor has a blue wire and a brown one. The other one a green wire with yellow rings every inch and the letters M1 on it and a light blue wire.
Can someone tell me how to connect the sensor?
