DVLA Points system

Right, I'm a bit confused by the points system the DVLA use to work out if a car is "modified" or "radically altered".
The points system goes like this:
5 points for in altered body
2 points for suspension (front and back)
2 points for axles (both)
2 points for steering - original
2 points for transmission - original
1 point for engine- original
Now my question is, is it two point for keeping both the rear and the front suspension stick or is it two for the front and two for the back?
And the axles, is it two points for keeping both axles in the original location or for keeping the car in the correct drivetrain layout?

My understanding is you will get 2 points if you keep both axles.The points system goes like this:

Likewise 2 if you keep both the front and rear suspension.
No points if you only keep one of each.
Never seen any mention of having to keep the original location so you could, for instance, take a whole FWD transverse engine/'box/subframe/suspension and transplant it as rear wheel drive in your creation.

It's all a bit confusing, because it could be taken that it's 1 point for each piece (1 for the front and 1 for the back). As in debating taking a triumph 1500TC/RWD and creating a 4wd using ford Sierra parts. Front sus will be kept stock apart from the use of the fwd hubs, which are a triumph part. And if the DVLA say that the front half shafts and hubs are part of the modified suspension, I'll have to re-register it and I'd want to keep the original registration
