Small metal shavings from exhaust pipes

Hi there
I've got an Audi R8 with the 5.2 litre v10 engine. I just noticed some very fine silvery metal shavings on the inside of the exhaust pipes.
Has anyone had this before or know what it could be?
I've had a good scour of the internet and the only thing I could find was possibly a cat problem.
The car is only 2 years and done 2k miles which is a bit confusing!

Bad news or just to be monitored? It's so new it would be unusual to have a knackered cat..

Yep it's still under warranty, also Audi just passed it a years mot early so the emissions aren't a problem.
Maybe I'll take it back and see what they say.
What a pain!

Spoke to the 'master technician' who said to monitor things and he'd never heard of that before...didn't fill me with confidence
