Anyone fitted a vintage air gen 2 heater to an LS3 (2010 vintage)? I've installed one to mine but I'm finding that the engine overheats. I've just isolated the heater hoses and plugged the water pump outlet as per pre-installation and the overheating has gone away.

I've seen some notes on back pressure for the internal bypass valve but nothing specific. Also, people who 'live near hills rather than somewhere flat' can get overheating issues.

Anyone had this problem? I'd have thought the valve that comes with the kit should sort the back pressure but its not. Maybe its bad? Will explore more options tomorrow...

And what exactly is a "vintage air gen 2 heater" ?
a) Google is your friend

b) Why come onto a thread that asks for advice on an item (clearly stated in the title) that you know nothing about?

Primarily because he is a helpful guy trying to understand your problem.

Second he is probably struggling to understand how the fitting of a heater could cause overheating unless of course it is not overheating but that you have simply failed to get rid of the airlock in the heater.

Finally, if you respond the way you did I suspect you will be largely on your own with this problem.

Vintage air gen 2's or other systems are very common to people mod'ding LS3, I had hoped someone here would know of them. I don't understand why someone comes onto a thread about a specific component without knowing anything about it, then asks what it is without first looking at google.

No problem, I'll sort it myself.
